MCG Christmas Lunch

VPL hosted 360 people in the MCG member’s dining room for the 2015 Christmas lunch.

Invited guests included the Minister for Police the Honourable Wade Noonan, Retired Chief Commissioner Sinclair (Mick) Miller, Retired Acting Chief Commissioner Tim Cartwright, Victoria Police Executive Command and life members of Victoria Police Legacy. Over 250 legatees heard VPL Chairman Inspector Stephen Cooper welcome everyone and recap on the year that was and what is coming in 2016; Deputy Commissioner Andrew Crisp, standing in for Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton read a message from the Chief Commissioner and Minister Noonan was warmly welcomed and spoke briefly to those attending. Regular MC Superintendent Peter O’Neill entertained the crowd as did the JASSisters who got people up and dancing to their old and new standards in three part harmony.

The MCG lunch is an opportunity for VPL to thank specific people for their support during the year. This year Naz Demaj from Northern Classic Cruisers and Sergeant Simon Borg were thanked for their support during the year in donating over $5,000 through the events organised by the car club. The organizing committee for the Wall to Wall ride for Remembrance was also present and thanked for their continuing support - VPL received over $22,000 from the 2015 ride.
