Wall to Wall: 2015 – Well Done and Thank You

The Police Federation of Australia recently announced that the total donations to police legacies this year from the Wall-to-Wall Ride For Remembrance was $140,000 with VPL receiving $18,200. That amount added to local fundraising sees VPL receive $22,000.

Everyone at and connected with Victoria Police Legacy thanks all the riders/participants, support people, sponsors/donors including Victoria Police for facilitating the ride.

A special thank you to the State organising members for the terrific work they do and funds raised for Victoria Police Legacy which now exceeds $70,000. They are Detective Sergeant Ian Marr (Sale Crime Investigation Unit), Sergeant Scott McLean (Croydon Police Station), Inspector Peter Ferguson (Police Communications Branch), Inspector John Felton (Transit Police) and Leading Senior Constable Mark Vipond (Road Policing, Drug and Alcohol Section).

Vice Chairman Roger Schranz reaffirmed his message of previous years that it was a wonderful opportunity for police and friends who were motorcycle enthusiasts to combine their passion for riding whilst remembering our fallen colleagues, promoting safe motorcycle riding and raising funds and awareness for police legacies. Assistant Commissioner Doug Fryer of the Road Police Command, reflected on his ride this year, stating that it was the “[B]iggest ride yet, about 350 riders, all there to remember our fallen members and their families and to provide an escort for the legatee through to Canberra. A humbling experience and shared with great people who all wanted to honour our fallen.”
