2016 Christmas Lunch

VPL hosted 370 people in the MCG member’s dining room for the 2016 Christmas lunch.

Invited guests included the Minister for Police the Honourable Lisa Neville MP, Victoria Police Legacy Patron Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton, Retired Chief Commissioner Sinclair (Mick) Miller, Victoria Police Executive Command and Life Members of Victoria Police Legacy. Over 300 legatees heard VPL Chair, Superintendent Lauren Callaway welcome everyone and recapped on the year that was, with a particular focus on the sacrifices made by the legatees in support of those who are no longer with us. Lauren also thanked her fellow Board members for their efforts during the year, including Adrian Hurring, Neville Taylor and Jenelle Kelly, making special mention of the services of former Board Chair Stephen Cooper. In his address Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton spoke of the importance of ensuring that the history of Victoria Police is maintained and the significants of the special place that the legatees have within the Victoria Police family. Minister Neville was warmly welcomed and spoke briefly to those attending, wishing one and all a very Merry Christmas.

Superintendent Peter O’Neill was presented with Life Membership of Victoria Police Legacy by VPL Patron Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton.

The MCG lunch is an opportunity for VPL to thank specific people for their support during the year.
