Ride to Remember 2016

The Victoria Police Cycling Club – Ride to Remember commenced on Thursday the 12th May 2016. The team of 70 Cyclists & support crew coordinated by the Victoria Police Cycling Club (VPCC) headed to Corryong on the Victoria – NSW Border.

The team is riding to raise awareness and funds in support of Victoria Police Legacy.

The ride aims to remember police who have been seriously injured or killed in the line of duty and includes participants from Victoria and New South Wales (NSW) Police.

Today, the riders left Corryong on a three day ride to the National Police Memorial in Canberra.

The team is being hosted by local clubs in towns (Lions & Rotary) on the way and significant community support has already been seen, including notices on community pages.

Upon arrival in Canberra the group will join 100 riders from NSW supporting the NSW Police Legacy, having ridden from Sydney. They will then ride together to the National Police Memorial where a memorial service will be held.

The VPCC have fundraised $20,000 for Victoria Police Legacy in support of Police families, serving or retired, who have lost a spouse, partner or parent. Direct donations or staff salary contributions to the fund are tax deductible.
