Vale - Inspector Bryan T Kelly QPM (retired)

On behalf of the Board, our membership, staff, volunteers and everyone connected to Victoria Police Legacy, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing last night at 11 p.m. of our inaugural President and Life Member, Inspector Bryan Kelly QPM (retired) at Cabrini Residential Care in Ashwood. We extend our most sincere and deepest sympathies to Bryan’s wife Peg and the Kelly family on the passing of a great man, a great leader and a true humanitarian.

Bryan was a larger than life character within Victoria Police for over 40 plus years and he will always be remembered for his personal commitment and passion to others within the policing family who had suffered the loss of a loved one.

Along with Superintendent Peter Ryan AM APM (retired), Bryan was instrumental in the formation of Victoria Police Legacy, which commenced operation on the 6th February 1980.

Bryan’s recent battle with ill health has now come to an end and we honour him and thank him for his outstanding service to Victoria Police Legacy.

Rest in Peace Bryan Kelly – you did yourself, your family, Victoria Police and Victoria Police Legacy very proud. You will be remembered.

Commander Lauren Callaway (Chair of VPL)
