Victoria Police Legacy

Victoria Police Legacy provides support and services to people in the police family who have lost a husband, wife or partner who is a serving or retired sworn member of Victoria Police. We also provide support and services to serving or retired sworn members who have lost husbands, wives or partners. Recently, support has been extended to a cohort aptly named Friends of Police Legacy which includes legatees who have moved into a new relationship, parents of serving members of Victoria Police, where that  member was not in a relationship at the time of their death and other people who have been deemed by the Board to have provided significant support to Victoria Police Legacy.

Victoria Police Legacy is a not-for-profit public benevolent institution that has Australian Taxation Office Deductible Gift Recipient status. Our income is mainly derived from the extremely generous financial support of the many thousands of sworn members of Victoria Police ranging from the newest recruit to the Chief Commissioner without whom much of the high quality support and services would not be possible. This is complemented by bequests, sponsorship, returns on investment and other donations.

Christmas Gatherings 2012

Victoria Police Legacy encourages legatees to be involved in our social activities which are planned to enable contacts and networks to be maintained and be expanded. This is especially so at Christmas when there were four opportunities for legatees of all ages to get togetheMCG Christmas lunch.

Family Camp 2012

In early October 22 families took a drive to Phillip Island to attend the bi-annual family camp. The venue was Phillip Island Adventure Resort and we were very well looked after in excellent accommodation with lots of scheduled and unscheduled activities.

Melbourne Legacy 2012 Winter Camp

On a chilly winter day in early July, ten excited junior legatees from Victoria Police legacy joined with junior legatees from the Defence Force's Legacies to travel to Gough's Bay for the Melbourne Legacy 2012 Winter Camp.

Robert Holian - VPL Cheque

Family members of former Hobsons Bay Sergeant Phillip Holian have thanked Victoria Police and Victoria Police Legacy for their ongoing support following his death from cancer in February this year.
