Victoria Police Legacy is proud to have an extraordinary team of volunteers who assist in delivering important services to over 1200 police legatees, all of whom have lost a loved one. Helping out with even the smallest tasks can make a real difference to the lives of our police legatees.
We are always looking for people wanting to contribute their time and skills. Join us in the office, share your professional skills remotely or help out at an event or in our fundraising efforts.
We also very much welcome organisations that can provide pro-bono services and advice and discounted project-based work. Pro-bono work can range from gardening and handy man work to financial advisory services and everything in between.
Victoria Police Legacy does not have work placement or work experience positions available at this time.
We have a number of current and retired Victoria Police members who volunteer their time as bus drivers and photographers on our trips and getaways, as well as our VPL Connect telephone welfare program. We also have a number of community members volunteering their time to support our work. We are always seeking more people to assist us with delivering quality support services to our police legacy families.
Anyone over the age of 18 years can volunteer to assist with administration work, fundraising events and activities and pro-bono work.
Talk to us about your interests and skills and we’ll find a way for you to support our police legacy families.
Volunteering is good for your health at any age and helps you stay mentally and physically healthy. Helping others kindles happiness and can provide a natural sense of accomplishment and a healthy boost to your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Volunteering is a fun and easy way to explore your interests and passions with like minded people. Volunteering can be a relaxing, energizing escape from your day-to-day routine and provide you with renewed creativity, motivation, and vision.
Volunteering allows you to connect to our VPL community and make it a better place. You can meet new people, make new friends, expand your network, and boost your social skills through fun and fulfilling activities.
You can apply for a specific role, or register your interest in volunteering if we don’t have the right opportunity for you. If there is something available, we will get in touch.
Otherwise, we will keep you on file and contact you if something suitable becomes available.
Every dollar you raise means we can continue to fund our key priorities of welfare services, education grants and social connection.
