2021 National Police Remembrance Day Services - Canberra

National Police Remembrance Day – National Police Memorial service – Canberra – Livestream – 2 p.m. (AEST)

Due to covid restrictions, this years’ service at the National Police Memorial in Canberra will once again be livestreamed which commences at 2 p.m. (AEST). The service can be accessed via the following link: - https://vimeo.com/event/1253666

The service will include the blessing of the touchstones bearing the names of those members who have lost their lives since NPRD 2020 being added to the NPM this year, namely:

  • Senior Constable David Masters – Queensland Police Service
  • Senior Constable Kelly Foster – New South Wales Police Force
  • Detective Senior Constable Michael James Cursiter – Western Australia Police

Wreaths will be laid in their honour.

The service will also include the blessing of touchstones of the other members being placed onto the wall this year, and pay tribute to their historic deaths, namely:

  • Constable George Michael Willis – Victoria Police (1949)
  • Constable Richard Hughes – Western Australia Police (1901)
  • Constable and Boatman Ferdinand Christopher Hauth – Tasmania Police (1869)
  • Constable William Doodie – Tasmania Police (1863)
  • Chief District Constable Edward Rainsford – Tasmania Police (1854)
  • District Constable Michael Blackburne – Tasmania Police (1849)
  • Constable George Lucas – Tasmania Police (1829)

Under the current restrictions, and noting the various state travel restrictions, we will unfortunately be unable to invite attendees, including the families of these members, to the service this year.
