Welfare Checks and Home Visits

Our Field Officers are there for our police legatees through regular telephone contact and home visits which provides an opportunity for personal one on one conversations. Home visits may also be arranged at a place more convenient for the police legatee such as work, a local café or another venue. Our priority is ensuring the wellbeing of our police legatees, so our welfare checks and home visits are individualised on an as needs basis.

VPL Connect

VPL Connect is a program that offers our more vulnerable police legatees frequent telephone contact from a VPL Connect volunteer and is in addition to the welfare work undertaken by our Field Officers. VPL Connect volunteers are compassionate, patient, and cheerful people who take a great interest in our police legatees through meaningful conversations. With isolation and loneliness on the increase, these frequent telephone contacts help keep police legatees engaged and helps remind that they are important and that we care.
