Over Easter, Police Legatee Norma Hore and her family returned to a place filled with memories - the Victoria Police Stud Farm, where they lived from 1978–1982 while her husband, Senior Sergeant Bob Hore, managed the grounds.
Thanks to the support of Victoria Police Legacy, Norma, her children Cherie and Adam, and her grandkids visited the Mounted Branch on Good Friday. They loved strolling the grounds and sharing stories with staff - including Senior Sergeant Craig Holstein, who was keen to learn about their connection.
Norma was amazed by how much had changed, especially seeing the legacy of her late husband, who helped design the original Scania Horse Transport Truck in 1979.
A beautiful moment of reflection, family, and remembrance.
Thanks to Senior Sergeant Craig Holstein for arranging this special visit, and to VPL Volunteer and Police Legatee Leading Senior Constable Laurel Dines for initiating this moving experience, ensuring that Victoria Police Legacy continues its mission to support and uplift the families of those who served, ensuring that their contributions are never forgotten.
