The Chair and Board of Victoria Police Legacy mourn with a heavy heart the passing of Leading Senior Constable Joanne (Jo) Rae who served as a VPL Board Member for 7 plus years from May 1999 to November 2006. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, colleagues, and the team at The Police Association of Victoria’s (TPAV).
For over a decade Jo was an integral part of TPAV’s Welfare/Wellbeing Services Team providing comfort and practical assistance to literally thousands of vulnerable and sick officers and their families during their time of need. It was in her TPAV role that Jo maintained a close friendship working with the team at Victoria Police Legacy to ensure that police families were supported following the loss of a loved one.
Today we pay homage to Jo’s career of 36 years of policing service and the compassion, care and support she provided to all within the policing family.
