Police Legatee Sue Fraser overjoyed to receive unearthed Service Plaque

Published: Thursday 23 January 2025

We were recently made aware of this heartwarming story from Police Legatee Sue Fraser (wife of Leading Senior Constable Garry May), and we just had to share!

“Recently I had a call from Sergeant Julian Litcanu (from Professional Standards) informing me that he had unearthed a Service Plaque earned by my husband to mark 22 years of service with ESD (as it was then known).

It must be said that Sergeant Julian had worked very hard to find me – particularly as I had moved house and the fact that I did not have the same surname as my husband. Great detective work, considering my husband had retired in 2013.

Sergeant Julian arrived at my door after a busy day’s work and presented me with the Service Plaque. Believe me, a few tears were shed and there were hugs all round. Thank you, Julian – I cannot express how grateful I am for your thoughtfulness and determination to find me. What a champion!”

We're not crying...
