Victoria Police Legacy were proud to attend the Victoria Police Academy 50th Anniversary Celebrations on Friday 31 March.
Victoria Police commenced training at the Victoria Police Academy, Glen Waverley on 01 April 1973, and as such, 2023 is the 50th anniversary of occupying this site.
On 02 April 1973, 15 recruits from Squad 21/72 moved from the Police Depot in St Kilda Road, Melbourne to Glen Waverley to complete their training, and graduated 12 days later on 13 April 1973. Squad 5/73 were the first squad inducted into the Academy and to complete all training there.
Guests enjoyed afternoon tea in the Main Dining Room with members of the Victoria Police Executive Leadership Group and Academy staff, followed by the Constable ‘Marching Out Parade’ for Police Squad 4 of 2022/23 and special award presentations.
